A bestiary of human passionsMore than 80 works are displayed in around fifteen rooms, along a thematic journey (transport of love, capture and captivity, blood of beasts, domesticated savagery...) where major installations, emblematic works and new pieces interact with the museum's collections. A new angle: animality as a key to reading For the first time, the work of Annette Messager is approached in the light of animality. Although a constant figure in his work since the 1970s, the animal figure had never been the subject of such exploration. The animal world becomes a mirror of human passions and impulses: they resemble us, parody us, reveal us. An international journey Winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale in 2005 and the Praemium Imperiale in 2016, Annette Messager has been the subject of major exhibitions in the largest international institutions: the MoMA in New York, the Center Pompidou in Paris, the Hayward Gallery in London, the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo and even the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. This exhibition at the Museum of Hunting and Nature is part of this worldwide recognition, offering the artist one of the most unique settings there is.
