A proposal of the journal Billebaude

ON THE BEAR TRACK

WEDNESDAY 17 MAY 2017, TO 19H30

PERFORMANCE CONFERENCE PROPOSED BY THE REVIEW Billebaude

Twenty years after the first reintroductions of brown bears in the French Pyrenees, how does the animal readapt itself in these mountains from which it had almost disappeared and how did it make territory, close to human activities? We will see how, from the first release, in May 1996, tracking was crucial in understanding how bears made territory and anticipating conflicts of cohabitation with humans, but also to reinvest the mountain from this iconic animal presence.

With Farid Benhammou, geographer, specialist in large predators,
Jean-Jacques Camarra, responsible for the brown bear network at ONCFS.
With the Standing Monkey Company: Jade Duviquet, actress and director, David Myriam, sketcher on sand, and Jean-François Hoël, musician-noise maker.
