PROPOSAL FOR THE BILLEBAUDE REVIEW

MEETING WITH THE WRITER PETER HELLER

WEDNESDAY 28 SEPTEMBER 2016, AT 19H30

PROPOSAL OF THE REVIEW Billebaude

"Outdoor" writer Peter Heller regularly contributes to magazines such as NPR, Outside Magazine et Men's journal. Author of four non-fiction books on nature, the environment and adventure, he has been crowned with numerous awards. Although he's a New Yorker, studied in Vermont and New Hampshire, and now lives in Denver, Colorado, his resume matches that of any good, self-respecting Montana author: he has been a diver, mason, lumberjack, sea fisherman, kayak instructor, river guide and pizza delivery man. Post-apocalyptic fable, contemplative and breathless adventure novel, virile and poetic, The constellation of the dog (Actes Sud, 2013) requires it from the start of play as a powerful new voice in contemporary American literature for whom nature is at the center of everything.

On an infernal spiral of violence and death, Paint, fish and let die (Actes Sud, 2015 - Millepages 2015 prize) confirms a singular talent.

For number 9 of Billebaude, he recounted his encounters with bears.

An interpreter will translate the discussions.
