The art of talking to horses

LANGUAGE AND COGNITION OF EQUIDAE

WEDNESDAY 31 OCTOBER 2018, TO 19H30

There are few in-depth scientific studies on equine ethology and cognitive learning mechanisms for riding. Carlos Pereira, squire, semiotician and lecturer at Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle, has opened a new field of research located at the interface of ethology and linguistics, the ambition of which is to "unravel" the mysteries of the myth of centaur, the archetype of the rider united to his mount evolving according to the laws of musical harmony.

Through a conference and a presentation of his Lusitanian horses, he will discuss his work on equine cognition carried out with the Institute of Primatology at Kyoto University, in Japan and the invention of a music theory according to the precepts classic learned horse riding in the pure tradition of the Portuguese school.
