The Fondation François Sommer library and the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature’s document collection constitute a unique documentation center on the work of François and Jacqueline Sommer, animal art, hunting and contemporary environmental opinion. Archives, old and current publications, catalogues of collections and exhibitions, reviews and photographs are accessible to students and researchers by appointment.
Precious publications in the collection are regularly presented in the rooms of the museum and accompany the discovery of the pieces.
A digitalisation policy conducted in conjunction with the BNF also enables essential documents in the history of hunting to be made accessible on Gallica.
